Fun Fest 2012 on Navarre Beach

It's coming soon - The 28th Annual Fun Fest on Navarre Beach. The fun will take place Friday, April 27 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 10 a.m. to 10 p.m..

This festival is sure to have something for the whole family with food, entertainment, local businesses and artisans. Plan you weekend escape with Navarre Vacation Rentals and let the fun begin.

Ms. Fun Fest 2012 will be officially announced as the pageant will take place a few days prior at Navarre High.

For running enthusiasts, come out and join in the annual 5 K or the Fun Run (1 mile) that will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday. These non-competitive runs are to earn money for the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary.

Now if you and your friends are the sort up for a good competition - create a team of 4 people and enter the Race for the Seagull Corporate Challenge. This Challenge will have your team competing in games, trivia, watermelon eating contests, a chip and putt, 5 K, and a standing paddle board race.

If music is your interest, Friday and Saturday nights the festival will be hosting live concerts taking place at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m..

For kids, there will be a children's area with inflatables - admission is charged. Friday $10; Saturday $15; and for the whole weekend access $20.

For your convenience there will be free shuttles running from the County Park to Navarre Beach during the hours of Fun Fest. And to end the fun, stick around for the grand finale of fireworks.

Saturdays by the Sea - Navarre Marine Science Station

Ever stood along the shore and wondered about the lives of the creatures that live beneath its surface?

The Navarre Marine Science Station is offering its annual Saturdays by the Sea. In their Saturdays by the Sea programs (March 10, April 28, and May 26) your kids can be involved with hands on programs that will introduce them to Gulf of Mexico and the creatures that live there.

These Saturdays by the Sea are open to anyone local and vacationing guest alike. The cost is $25 per person to enroll and plan for a day of sun, sand and sea and dress accordingly including sunscreen and clothes you won't mind getting wet.
